Bundle Picks for November

I am filling in this month since President Moe resigned his presidency and has halted his reviewing activities.  With all the wonderful contributions to the Bundle in November, choosing the few highlights is difficult; however, here are my selections:

Best Writing:  Again this summer and fall, news has been filled with wildfires in the West, presently in California with great loss of life.  Kent Clair Chamberlain gives us some poetic glimpses of fires, both literal and metaphorical, in Oregon in his collection Northwest Fires and Other Poems.

Best Journal: Greg McKelvey provides two issues of The Ink Zone (#159 and 160), both of which are fine examples of ajay skill and spirit, but  #160  (Is It Fall Yet?) struck my fancy with its treatment of the signs of nature’s easing from one season to the next viewed through a photographer’s eye.  And the bonus, of course, with Greg is the photography.

Best Project: David Zadra has been delighting us with his “Kackler” universe for a couple of years.  That is a noteworthy project itself, but his google-eyed fish with a copy of The Kackler tucked under its fin in this month’s Bundle is well-executed and imaginative.
