Another busy day around the dining room table, while the rain rained down outside. The envelopes this month (and July and August!) were printed by Michael Coughlin. Please send him your thanks along with mine for such a nice looking contribution to the bundle. It is a good sized bundle this month with something for everyone. It has a noticeable amount of poetry in it, which is one of my favorite parts. It does not have anything from June Bassimer, but I put extra special stamps on her envelope, which is my way of telling her how much I miss her voice in the bundle! I won't give anything else away, but it should be in your mailboxes around the country and the world soon enough. Hopefully there will be something that you enjoy enough that you will send its printer one of Peter's included comp cards.
The July bundle won't go out until after the middle of the month, so you have a lot of time to send something to me.
A note to Cleveland printers: we love getting your journals wrapped in The Plain Dealer! We love The Plain Dealer around here (my husband is from Cleveland). But why is it always the sports page?
Thanks for all the notes you tuck in your packages, and thanks for getting your words out there. I'm always grateful for healthy and stylish forms of communication.
Amateur journalism is a unique activity. Amateur journalists publish journals on paper & online & come from many perspectives: from deluxe letterpress printed journals, to Xeroxed newsletters, to artistically designed cards and ephemera. We embrace the spirit of being amateurs – loving what we do for pure joy and not financial gain – while creating top quality journals, zines, and homemade publications.
